Job summary
The Phlebotomy team requires additional staff members to support the existing team in their multi departmental service delivery, across seven days including public holidays.
Main duties of the job
2 permanent post available
19 hours per week to include 3 shifts per week Monday to Friday (2 Monday to Friday when on weekend rotation), every other weekend and rotational bank holidays.
Hours are as follows:
Saturday and Sunday (and bank holidays) = 07.00 - 11.00
Weekday shift = 07.00 until 12.00 or 12.00 until 17.00 if covering late clinics
Duties will include blood sampling for patients on all acute wards, medical, surgical and high risk infection departments.
Also providing a service to the very busy and demanding blood sampling room, for patients attending clinics of varying specialities.
NICU, fistula and vascular training will also be provided.Previous phlebotomy experience is preferred but all applicants will be considered.
Successful candidates will receive full up to date training and take a practical assessment to assess skill level.
Shortlisted applicants will be expected to complete and pass an assessment of basic numeracy and literacy prior to interview.
Candidates with previous experience will have to demonstrate their skill in a practical test.
