Job summary
The reproductive medicine team provide a full range of NHS fertility investigations. We have a well-established NHS general fertility clinic that is recognised regionally and nationally, as such has been recognised in combination with St. Michael's as the only centres in the Southwest and Wales to provide sub-specialty training. We are also the lead centre for the RCOG ATSM in Subfertility and Reproductive Health. The team provide 6 clinics a week with a lead consultant supported by a specialist doctor and specialist nurses and dedicated administrative team. This post will strengthen our team in Reproductive Medicine and ensure we can expand and develop our services in this specialist area.
The team provides an advanced diagnostic service for couples including endocrinology, genetics, imaging, hysteroscopy and laparoscopies. We also provide treatment including ovulation induction, medical treatment and are the only centre providing advanced fertility surgery in the region including hysteroscopic tubal cannulation and treatment for Asherman's syndrome. Patients are counselled and prepared for assisted conception treatment, pre-implantation genetic diagnosis and fertility preservation. as well as provide tertiary advice for complex cases.

The post holder will be subspecialty trained in Reproductive Medicine (RCOG recognised). They may have additional experience in other specialist areas to meet the needs of the department.
The post will involve becoming part of the Reproductive Medicine unit including regular outpatients, MDT meetings, operating lists and working collaboratively with the allied professionals. He / she will be expected to lead further developments in the Reproductive Medicine service, particularly the Reproductive Endocrine service.
The postholder will be responsible for the clinical management of patients under their care, and, in liaison with consultant colleagues, continuity of care when the post holder is absent.

Essential
- MRCOG or equivalent
- RCOG accredited Subspecialty training in Reproductive Medicine Specialist trainees that do not hold a CCT must be due to be awarded one within 6 months of the interview date.
- CCT in Obstetrics & Gynaecology and have been entered on the GMC Specialist Register at the time of commencing the post.
Desirable
- Higher academic qualification (e.g., MD or PhD).
Training And Experience

- Recent experience and familiarity of UK hospital systems and practices (or equivalent).
- Clinical training and experience in general Obstetrics & Gynaecology equivalent to that required for UK CCT
