Obesity Specialist Dietitian

Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic dietitian with good team working skills to join our multidisciplinary specialist weight management team. This post can be flexed depending on interest and experience to provide specialist dietetic support to patients in the medical weight management or Baraitric surgery service. You will work closely with psychologists, endocrinologists, surgeons and specialist nurses. We have embraced hybrid working and are happy to accommodate flexible working patterns.

We will welcome applications from dietitians interested in working within obesity. The role and banding can be tailored depending on experience.

Job share or flexible working will be considered on an individual basis.

Main duties of the job

  • Our medical weight management service provides individual dietitian clinics to our management patients and deliver our "mood and food" group programme, jointly with psychology.
  • You will likely be involved in the delivery of dietetic support to patients being initiated on Saxenda.
  • The bariatric surgery service supports patients with pre-operative education, peri and post operative support through individual face to face and telephone clinics requiring skilled interpretation of nutritional blood tests.
  • You will be involved in service development projects including creating online resources, clinical audit and research projects.
  • You will be required to provide a mix of telephone, video and face to face appointments. These may be individual or group.
  • Experience in the assessment and dietary management of patients living with obesity through skilled use of behaviour change and motivational interviewing techniques is desirable.
