A key leadership role has arisen within one of the UK's largest NHS Hospital Trusts. We are looking for a dynamic senior radiographer with excellent communication skills who is committed to the Quality Improvement of Imaging Services.
The Imaging Department at North Bristol Trust is seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to lead on the Quality agenda and lead the department on its journey towards achieving and maintaining Quality Standard for Imaging (QSI) accreditation.
QSI accreditation will form part of the Departments Quality and Governance strategy with the aim of establishing and promoting a quality culture where imaging services, management and operations are working collaboratively to ensure the delivery of high quality pre-examination, examination, reporting and post-examination processes as well as ongoing evaluation and continual improvements.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be the Lead for Quality in the Imaging Department. They will manage and supervise the QSI accreditation processes as well as carrying out the required management and leadership tasks to support the accreditation processes and to achieve and sustain accreditation.
The job will involve:
- Manage a flexible responsive Trust wide Imaging Quality Service ensuring all facets of the service meet agreed service standards.
- Creating and sustaining a culture of service improvement and strong leadership to ensure QSI deadlines are met and maintained
- Negotiating and facilitating the key relationships between clinical teams, managers and others so that the accreditation process succeeds because it is owned and led by clinical staff
- Work with the Clinical Governance lead for the department to ensure a high quality and safe service

The Imaging Department is busy and dynamic and has CT, Interventional Radiology, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Plain Imaging and Ultrasound modalities based over 4 sites. The department performs over 420,000 examinations per year.

- To take responsibility for the Imaging Departments accreditation programme, as delegated by the Imaging Services Manager.
- To update the Imaging Services Manager regularly concerning progress with the accreditation programme.
- To understand the requirement and timescales of the Quality Standard for Imaging Accreditation Scheme (QSI).
- To coordinate the services responses to QSI, ensuring that all evidence uploaded to the QSI web based assessment is relevant, up-to-date, and fully meets the QSI criteria.
- To be a very visible member of the Imaging Department leadership team, supervising the ongoing implementation of processes reported to QSI, by checking records, compliance with policy, and observing standards of interactions with patients, service users, and other staff. To take action or report these findings as required.
- To have administrator access to the North Bristol NHS Trust web-based assessments on the QSI website, maintaining the access and passwords of the services users on that site.
- To maintain the services audit and outcome measure programme, issuing reminders to responsible persons that OCMs are due, and feeding the results into the required meetings.
- To chair the services QSI and quality meetings.
- To oversee and facilitate QSI site meetings.
- Work with the Clinical Governance lead
- To oversee the Imaging Departments controlled documents, issuing reminders to document owners when they require updating.
- To maintain all versions of the services controlled documents in key locations.

- BSc Diagnostic radiography or DCR(R)
- Educated to Masters Level or equivalent experience
- Must hold HCPC registration
