Job summary
Clinical Nurse Specialist Dermatology - Band 6/7, depending on experience.
We are looking to expand our small but dynamic team in dermatology. As a clinical nurse specialist working with people with chronic inflammatory skin conditions, you will be involved in helping patients to find effective and safe treatment.
Health promotion and psychological care is as important as skin assessment and blood result analysis. You will receive training and work towards competencies in dermatology, and you will be fully supported in working towards advanced practice via study and skill development.
If you are ready to take your career to the next level, dermatology could be your way forward.
This is a full time role, but part time working would be considered.
Main duties of the role
- Help patients to self manage their skin condition with topical therapies
- Enable systemic treatment choice, taking comorbidities into consideration
- Assist with the development of our new biological therapies service
- Monitoring those starting and established on systemic treatment
- Holistic assessment and health promotion
- Participate in the psychological care of the patient struggling with visible disease
- Delivery of excimer laser therapy for inflammatory skin disease
For a visit and informal chat, please contact either Advanced Nurse Practitioner Tracey Wheeler (tracey.wheeler@nbt.nhs.uk) or Matron Nicola Mackey (Nicola.mackey@nbt.nhs.uk).
