We are seeking a qualified and experienced Occupational Health Psychologist to join our established multidisciplinary Occupational Health and Wellbeing team. You will play a pivotal role in delivering a high quality, effective and responsive psychological service for Trust staff.We offer flexible and agile working arrangements, including hybrid working at the Trust Headquarters site and home.
This is a unique opportunity to shape how psychological wellbeing is supported within Occupational Health, working collaboratively to promote mental health, resilience and recovery in line with our People Strategy and "Being Humber" values.
Main duties of the job
As a key member of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide specialist psychological expertise, working with compassion, professionalism and autonomy.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering specialist psychological assessments and evidence based interventions for staff referred to Occupational Health.
- Supporting individuals and teams following workplace incidents, trauma or organisational change.
- Providing expert psychological advice, consultation and guidance to managers and Occupational Health colleagues.
- Contributing to well-being, health promotion and early intervention initiatives across the Trust.
- Participating in service development, quality improvement, audit and evaluation activities.
- Working collaboratively to support the development of a resilient, capable and healthy workforce aligned with modern ways of working
You will work alongside a diverse multidisciplinary team comprising Occupational Health Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Clinical Psychology, Occupational Health Medicine and an experienced Administrative Team

Job Role Summary
- To provide specialist psychological assessment for staff referred to the Occupational Health Department. To appropriately use, interpret and integrate complex data from a variety of sources including psychological and neuropsychological tests, self-report measures, rating [SR1 scales, and semi-structured interviews with staff.
- To provide appropriate psychological intervention for staff referred to the Occupational Health Department, based on assessments undertaken following referral.
- To be involved in post incident support to Humber staff by supporting areas requiring support and liaising with line managers as necessary.
- To assist the Occupational Health & Wellbeing Manager in leading and advancing clinical practice in line with DH guidelines and legislation.
- To provide clear visible psychology professional advice to employees within the Trust and external clients.
- To work in clinical situations, which require intense concentration, which may involve highly distressing or emotional circumstances where there is a risk of verbal or physical aggression. For example, this may include managing and advising on management of violent or severely disruptive behaviour.
- To make appropriate clinical judgements, diagnoses, formulations and decisions involving complex facts or situations, which require the analysis interpretation and comparison of a range of options, where expert opinions may differ, leading to the formulation of a problem and which provide the basis for the development of therapeutic interventions.
- To be responsible for implementing a range of psychological interventions for individuals, and across teams employed within the Trust.
- To deliver specialised care and provide highly specialised advice concerning the care and treatment of identified staff.
- To provide diagnostic clinical assessments and evidence-based therapies, drawing on advanced theoretical and practical knowledge of a wide range of psychological procedures and evidence-based practices
Core Functions - To ensure the systematic provision of a high-quality psychology service, to service users of a particular service area, by providing strong, effective professional direction, ensuring the delivery of evidence based psychological interventions and practice.
- To provide clinical supervision for trainees and assistant psychologists and to develop skills in the area of professional post-qualification teaching, training and supervision of other staff in the delivery of psychological services.
