Are you a Band 7 Mental Health Nurse looking to change roles or a Band 6 Nurse with mental health nursing experience seeking a promotional post?
We are looking for a qualified Mental Health Nurse Team Leader to work within a large transformed community mental health service to work with our existing leadership team. You will expected to be accountable in your own area of responsibility but will also have some shared responsibilities and will be required to provide strong and effective management and organisational leadership to ensure the delivery of safe evidenced based clinical intervention and practice.
This is an opportunity to be part of a service that is well underway with the CMHT Transformation programme and will continue this work as part of the new 10 Year plan.
You will form part of the overall Leadership Team and have support from 9 Clinical leads, the Service Manager and Senior Clinical Lead and General manager.
Main duties of the job
Key responsibilities:
Operational Leadership
To support the Service Manager, Senior Clinical Lead and other colleagues within the service area.Provide operational line management and supervision to allocated staff.Ensure staff receive annual performance appraisals aligned with the Trust's policy and strategy.
Analytical and Judgement Skills
Contribute to identifying/reviewing/re-designing services in response to user need, ensuring a safe, high-quality level of service is maintained.Manage complex, challenging and changing situations,Obtains, analyses, and interprets information for key performance indicators/outcome.
Planning and Organising
To manage a number of complex activities e.g., the demands placed on the service area, staffing levels, data to inform and support service provision.Ensure the team have procedures and systems to support the delivery of a high standard of service.
Policy and Service Development
Accountable for ensuring that practice and policy changes are implemented.

- Live register or equivalent professional registration relevant to the post
- Postgraduate or equivalent or be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge or experiential learning/experience in service development, managing change, leading and managing staff, plus specialist training and short courses to Diploma level relevant to area of practice:
- Full understanding of relevant policy, legislation, drivers and their application to clinical and service areas
- Hold a recognised non-medical prescribing qualification,

- Working knowledge of Trust IT systems if relevant to own area of work
- Detailed understanding of all current legislation relevant to the service area
