An exciting rare opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, proactive individual who would like to join the Core therapy Team here at Whitby. This service is currently evolving to increase access opportunities for the Community and surrounding areas.
The individual will be supported to provide patients with the interventions prescribed by a registered therapist, to enhance patient wellbeing safety. There will be guided support and training available to ensure both patient and personal safety is of paramount.
The successful individual will assist Occupational Therapists & Physiotherapist staff in the provision of activities that have a direct impact of patient lives in the Community. This is a fulfilling position for anyone looking to enter the NHS caring profession.
The will be support to practice within a Team sharing common goals, allowing personal growth, experience and development.
Main duties of the job
- Undertakes general duties within the department.
- To provide Occupational Therapy & Physiotherapy as delegated by a qualified therapist & within standard operating procedures, to support patients and contribute to the care planning process as a member of the team.
- Moving & Handling of patients.
- Vital observations.
- Recognise and escalate issues of concern and/or safety including the deteriorating patient and issues of safeguarding.
- Equipment provision & instruction in use.
- Lone working in the community setting including patients own homes.
- Transporting self around the community to visit patients and provide care
