We are looking for Healthcare Assistants Apprentice to work within secure services. As a Trust, we see the value in supporting the development and progression of our people through apprenticeship pathways, combining vocational learning with on-the-job experience. You will undertake aLevel 2 Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship whilst you work closely with your new team to gain the essential skills, knowledge and behaviours for this new role. The duration of this apprenticeship will be 15-18 months and on successful completion you will progress into a Band 3 Healthcare Worker role.

The post offers the successful candidates a unique opportunity to develop their knowledge and experience of specialist forensic pathways all under one roof. The team is fast paced, forward thinking and promotes a psychological and trauma informed approach with a focus upon a relational model.

You will be passionate about delivering a high standard of care, working with patients; their families and the professionals who support them to ensure that the care offered is needs based keeping the service user at the heart of all decisions about them.

Main duties of the job

The role is highly challenging and there is an emphasis on further training, as well as professional and personal development. Regular clinical supervision and support will be provided.

We are looking for staff with caring, compassionate natures, who are innovative, creative, flexible and highly motivated. You need to have a genuine interest in working therapeutically with patients who are experiencing a variety of mental health difficulties, and have come into contact with the criminal justice system.

You should be a good communicator and team player, with the successful applicant joining a multi-disciplinary team of professionals working into specialist teams. The successful applicant will be involved in providing a safe, nurturing and therapeutic environment.
