Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced nurse to join the Community Nursing bank with opportunities for shifts in Scarborough, Whitby, Ryedale and Pocklington both in the community and on the inpatient units in Whitby & Malton.
As a community nurse you need your own transport and to be comfortable working alone in patient homes. You will work closely with other community nurse colleagues and the wider MDT within our own services and other agencies. We are a 24/7 service so there is opportunity for different types of shifts.
Main duties of the job
The main duties of the role include:
- Holistic patient assessment, formulation and reviewing of care plans
- Management of pressure ulcers & wounds
- Palliative & end of life care
- Bladder & bowel care including catheterisation and continence assessments
- Medicines Management
- Injections (sub cut & IM)
- Phlebotomy
- Provision of equipment to support care
- Safeguarding
- Participation in daily safety huddles & handovers
