Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Family & Systemic Psychotherapist to join our established and valued systemic family psychotherapy and family interventions service, which is embedded in the adult community mental health services.

We are looking for an enthusiastic person to work with the Family Therapy and Interventions Lead to support and play a key role in the ongoing development and improvement of family work in Adult mental health services, as well as contributing to wider division and trust initiatives.

There are opportunities to work alongside other Family Therapists to cultivate a family-inclusive culture, including contributing to the development and delivery of the Trust's AFT accredited systemic family therapy training.

There is the possibility that this post could also be a developmental post (Band 6 to 7) and we would like to invite applications from trainees who are due to complete their Family and Systemic Psychotherapy Masters Level qualification in 2025.

Main duties of the job

As a Family Therapist within the team, you will be providing highly-skilled systemic therapy and interventions for adults and their families within our community mental health services.

You will be instrumental in the provision of Family Therapy for clients and families with a range of severe and complex psychological presentations, as part of a multi-disciplinary approach.

You will also provide professional leadership and supervision for other clinicians who are delivering Family Therapy and Family Interventions.

The role also includes supervision, consultation, and training to clinicians from a range of disciplines, teams, and professional networks to enable them to work more effectively with clients and their families.

Within this, you will contribute specialist knowledge and skills to assessment, care planning, treatment and review processes within the multi-disciplinary team.
