Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for 2 Band 7 Clinical Lead posts within the Mental Health Crisis and Intervention team.
The service provides crisis and acute care in the community to individuals between the ages of 18-65 in Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire and we will be working closely with Yorkshire Ambulance Service providing care to distressed individuals, working with or on the Mental Health Response Vehicles and closely with colleagues in 111 and 999.
Applicants will be able to demonstrate an advanced knowledge of mental health and should be experienced in managing high levels of risk while maintaining safe practice for individuals and the team, you will be able to provide examples of clinical leadership within a fast-paced environment.
Applicants will be able to demonstrate post qualification education or equivalent knowledge and be driven to further develop knowledge and skill. A passion for crisis mental health and service improvement is another essential quality for this post, as a service we continue to drive improvement to provide the best outcomes for the people who access the team.
Main duties of the job
To be accountable in own area of responsibility to provide clinical, professional and organisational leadership, ensuring the delivery of evidence based clinical interventions and practice.
To continue to demonstrate advanced clinical skills in practice and provide support and advice re service development and the delivery of care in partnership with service users, carers, staff, managers, other agencies, across several teams/geographical areas.
To directly manage/lead a multi-disciplinary team in the delivery of an effective, high quality mental health service to those who are experiencing a mental health crisis, their relatives and carers. Assesses service users/clients, plans, implements care in a variety of settings, provides highly specialist advice; maintains associated records.

Essential
- Relevant professional qualification i.e.; Registered Nurse, Registered Social Worker, State Registered O/T or Psychologist.
- Professional knowledge acquired through degree supplemented by post graduate diploma specialist training, experience, short courses plus further specialist training to masters equivalent level
- Demonstrable experience of mentoring pre-registration students/trainees.
- Full understanding of relevant policy, legislation, drivers and their application to clinical and service area, e.g. Mental Capacity Act, Social Inclusion
Desirable
- Advanced/expert understanding/application of relevant clinical practice/standards/audit within identified clinical area
