Job summary

The Trust is seeking a Speciality doctor in Child and Adolescent psychiatry to join the East Riding CAMHS Community Team which covers the areas of East Yorkshire & Yorkshire Coast & Wolds. The post holder will join an established multi-disciplinary team that consists of: psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, creative therapists and family therapists. The post holder will work jointly with the community consultants and provide clinical leadership to the community service, which is based in West End Child Adolescent & Family Service in Hessle.

This role is part of a rotational Specialty Doctor Post.

Main duties of the job

As a Specialty Doctor working in the CAMHS Community Team, you will have responsibility for the provision of safe and effective care and treatment. You will share the vision of integrated and multi-disciplinary working and actively engage in the development of the service through research and support.

Clinical Experience / skills / competencies

Essential

  • At least four years (full time) of post-registration experience in general adult psychiatry.
  • The diagnosis and management of complex mental illness.
  • The management of complex mental health needs
  • Ability to assess and manage psychiatric emergencies and act independently.
  • Writing comprehensive and clear medical notes.

Desirable

  • Experience of implementing service change to enhance the quality of patient care
  • Experience of leadership and management
  • Clinical experience at junior doctors level or above of working in the field of Perinatal or General Adult Psychiatry
  • Ability to develop psychological formulation and apply psychological approaches to practical situations.
