An exciting and rare opportunity has arisen for a Registered Nurse to join a progressive forward thinking, recovery focused inpatient team. Providing acute mental health services to 18 females situated in the west side of Hull, with excellent transport links and local amenities.

The team is comprised of medical staff including Consultant Psychiatrist, Junior Doctors and Trainees. Nursing staff both registered and non-registered, Specialist Social Worker, Specialist Occupational Therapist and therapy team including activity coordinators.

As a team we are consistently focused on the provision of quality care which is evidence based and as such actively support staff development through provision of formal and informal training to ensure that our staff are afforded the skills required to effectively and efficiently to support recovery.

Main duties of the job

  • To plan care for patients e.g., organising appointments, treatments, interventions, care programme approach (CPA) reviews
  • Responsible for managing and prioritising own workload, balancing the needs of patients and service requirements/competing priorities
  • To assess the needs of patients and their carers based on the analysis of a range of facts or situations. Interventions will be planned on the assessment information and the interpretation of this e.g. Mental Health assessment/risk assessment
  • To contribute to assessment and management plan for patients with high risk clinical needs to ensure safety of patients, carers, staff and the general public
  • Develops and maintains the patients control over decision making, assess the patient's commitment to the jointly determined plan of care, and fosters personal responsibility for health
  • Deliver care interventions and nursing advice in a variety of settings, that promote patient flexibility and choice, and which are sensitive to cultural preferences
