Job summary

We are excited to be expanding our small, yet dedicated community paediatric dietetics team covering Beverley and the East Riding of Yorkshire. We are offering a number of flexible and exciting opportunities within our team. Our service offers a flexible working pattern running virtual and face to face clinical sessions. With this in mind, we can accommodate people working mostly from home wherever you are. Since COVID, we have put in place effective and efficient new ways of working limiting our face-to-face contacts and time in offices. This opportunity may interest candidates from a little further away with few commitments to coming in. Ideally you would need to come into base if required, however, this would not be on a daily basis.

We are using telephone and video consultations and working closely via MS teams with our MDT to ensure safe and effective working. Our team are happy for discussion on what grade you are and what days and hours may suit you. We are open to discuss flexible working options and regarding the advertised hours, we are happy to listen to what may suit you and work with you to support your valuable input into our service. We are looking for enthusiastic candidate(s) with a positive attitude who feel as passionate as we do about our work. We work with a range of children including those who are looked after and who may have complex health care needs.

Main duties of the job

Our paediatric dietetic team office is based at East Riding Community Hospital in Beverley. We provide clinics around the East Riding and Pocklington to children referred into our service. Our service covers one to one clinic sessions, telephone clinics, input into special schools, MDT meetings and group sessions. The clinical work is varied in condition type such as; allergies, nutrition support, selective food intake, nutritional deficiencies, enteral feeding and some weight management patients. The team are focussed on training and keeping skills high to be as specialist as we can be in our area.

We strive to provide great student training to A,B and C students and work closely with our Humber Dietetic colleagues covering the adult service in Pocklington, Whitby, Scarborough and Ryedale to provide our varied placements.

This role is a great opportunity for a dietitian to expand their practice and enjoy the variety that community paediatric dietetic practice provides.
