We are delighted to announce that we recruiting for a Senior Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) in the East Riding Emotional Wellbeing Service, Humber NHS teaching Foundation Trust.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit dedicated, enthusiastic and innovative individuals to join a growing and evolving team. Working as a Senior PWP within the team you will help to develop, support and train staff along with providing low intensity therapy to the East Riding Population.

Main duties of the job

The Service supports people aged 16 and upwards in the community providing a range of recovery focused IAPT interventions for people with mild, moderate and severe common mental health problems such as anxiety and depression. The service provides a stepped care treatment approach. The post holder will:

  • Manage a caseload of patients with mild to moderate common mental health problems
  • Provide caseload, clinical and managerial supervision to the PWP team
  • Making decisions on suitability of new referrals, adhering to the department's referral protocol
  • Review and create pathways alongside management and clinical leads
  • Attend regular clinical and managerial supervision
  • Attend CPD days
  • To work within Service/Trust protocols/ policies
  • To work with a diverse population
  • To fulfil supervisor responsibilities
  • Ensure the supervision and professional development system for step 2 is in line with National IAPT guidance.

Qualifications and Knowledge

Essential

  • Degree level qualification in a health related area, ie, psychology degree and a qualification from PWP Training Course (Post Graduate Certificate in Low Intensity therapy)
  • IAPT supervision qualification
  • Be registered with the BABCP
  • Knowledge of anxiety, depression and mental health and how it may present in Primary Care
  • Demonstrates an understanding for the need to use evidence based psychological therapies gained through training and how it relates to this post

Desirable

  • Demonstrates a knowledge of the issues surrounding work and the impact it can have on mental health
  • An awareness of serious mental health presentations (psychosis, bi-polar)

Experience

Essential

  • At least 2 years significant experience of working with people who have experienced a mental health problem in Primary care
  • Demonstrates high standards in written communication and able to write clear reports and letters.
  • Worked in a service where agreed targets in place demonstrating clinical outcomes
  • Ability to demonstrate a range of post-qualifying experiences (Min 2 year) in offering and delivering the range of evidence-based IAPT low intensity interventions such as computerised CBT and guided self-help and group psycho-education.
  • Experience of screening, assessing and working with a wide spectrum of mental health issues and working with people with moderate common mental health problems
  • Experience of and ability to provide mentor/supervisor role
  • Experience of delivering training to a range of professionals
  • Experience of working with suicidal/self-harm clients and of risk management

  • Experience of co-working with general nurses and health visitors in a Primary Care setting
