Job summary
The NHS Humber Teaching Trust is looking to recruit an Administration Assistant Apprentice (Band 2) at Westlands As a Trust, we see the value in supporting the development and progression of our people through apprenticeship pathways, combining vocational learning with on the job experience.
You will undertake a Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship whilst you work closely with your new team to gain the essential skills, knowledge and behaviours for this new role. The duration of this apprenticeship will be 15-18 months and during this time you will be paid the national apprenticeship wage for the first 12 months with an increase to national living wage (23 and over) for the remaining time on your apprenticeship. On successful completion of your apprenticeship, you will progress into a Band 2 Administrator role.
Do you enjoy helping patients and working in a fast paced environment, if so this could be the role for you. Candidates will need to be organised, able to solve problems and work to tight deadlines, whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Excellent communication skills and a friendly, approachable nature are essential for this role as you will have lots of contact with patients.
You will be the first point of contact for our patients either face to face or on the telephone. You will work collaboratively with the practice team to meet the needs of patients, nurses and GPs.

Main duties of the job
To provide administrative support to and contribute to the planning and development of the department as a member of the team.
You will be required to greet staff, colleagues, families, carers and patients at reception, deal with telephone enquiries from community teams regarding appointments and input data into administration systems, so excellent keyboard skills are required. Also you will be required to photocopy and scan legal paperwork, answer the door due to being a locked unit you will be responsible for letting people in and out of the building
Westlands is a 24 hour Inpatient services and you will be required to work between 09:00-17:00 Monday to Friday. A degree of flexibility to cover is expected to cover for annual leave / sickness.
The role is varied and highly demanding, requiring a person with exceptional organisational ability and able to work under pressure while providing a positive and responsive professionalism on behalf of the practice.
