Job summary
A rare opportunity has become available to join the 0-19 Integrated Public Health specialist Nursing (ISPHN) team within East Yorkshire in the role of a band 7 infant feeding lead.
This is a 18.75 hr per week (0.5 WTE) substantive post to be based within the East Riding of Yorkshire.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the service with regards to infant feeding, they will have extensive knowledge with regards to infant feeding and will hold the Lactation consultant (GB) or equivalent qualification. They will provide effective leadership and specialist advice in the promotion, professional development and service delivery of infant feeding in particular breastfeeding across the East Riding of Yorkshire, ISPHN, FNP and other Trust services.
The trust is currently Baby Friendly Initiative(BFI) Gold accredited and was the first service to be awarded Gold status jointly with our childrens centre colleagues. The successful candidate will be expected to lead on project management, implementation and maintenance of this accreditation.
Main duties of the job
- To engage with clients, face to face, telephone and online and offer evidence bases and specialist information and advice.
- To organise and manage a range a number of meetings. Infant Feeding, IBCLC, etc
- To engage with CCG and Public health commissioners and represent the Trust at strategic meetings.
- To project manage the Baby Friendly Initiative approach
- To engage and empower the ISPHNS and FNP team to provide excellent, outcome driven, evidence-based practice in partnership with families, the local community, and stakeholders to support and improve infant feeding practices across communities within the East Riding
- To lead on the strategic and operational requirements to maintain UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative (BFI) Gold Accreditation across the Trust and East Riding Children Centres.
