Main duties of the job
The role has recently been reviewed to support a shift into a greater level of clinical leadership and oversight on a busy 18 bedded male acute unit.
The successful candidate will have excellent self management and regulation at the centre of their practice, ensuring that quality value and evidence based practice informs their patient care.
You will have an eye for detail, and the ability to effectively lead a team of nurses with the support of other Specialist nurse, Deputy Charge Nurses and the Charge Nurse to ensure that the unit consistently meets the standards to provide the best experience of recovery for the patient.
The successful candidate will be familiar with and take responsibility for specific clinical audits, provide challenging and developmental supervision to junior staff, support staff who are on development plans to achieve their potential through objective evidence based assessment of practice.
The successful candidate will be able to maintain objectivity under stress and have the ability to actively problem solve and recognise when they need to escalate further to the charge nurse.
The successful candidate must be driven, be an excellent role model, with the ability to represent the patient effectively presenting complex information and maintain a review of systems in place as part of the leadership team to ensure that practices remain effective and be confident to challenge when they appear to be less effective.
