Job summary
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our Goole Community based Mental Health Team. The post holder would be expected to cover both the Goole and Haltemprice Older Peoples CMHT.
You will be working closely with colleagues to deliver evidence-based assessments and interventions.
There is professional and clinical leadership via the Advanced Lead OPMH OT as well as the wider service OT and AHP leadership structure. The service is growing and developing with enthusiastic and motivated staff with an emphasis on sharing skills and encouraging one another. We encourage opportunities for professional development and training with regular supervision and appraisal.
Main duties of the job
You will utilize your Occupational Therapy skills within the multidisciplinary team and develop collaborative working relationships with staff and service users. You will deliver evidence based Occupational therapy assessments and interventions to facilitate recovery and optimise functioning in all areas of daily living and leisure, within the most enabling environments. Service user/patient interventions take place in people's homes, community settings and in-patient areas. There will be opportunities to work with the team to build a service that enables service users to access many aspects of the communities they live in.
Training is supported within the Trust, and specific Occupational Therapy assessments are encouraged. If a Band 5 is recruited to this post there will be a structured process to move up and progress to Band 6. The Occupational Therapy Service is committed to undergraduate student education via SLiP training.
You will receive regular clinical/ professional supervision from the Advanced Occupational Therapist (Band 7) and have access to a monthly Continuous Professional Development (CPD) network. You will also support and contribute towards the Occupational Therapy service development within the team and wider Occupational Therapy service. Occupational Therapy is well established and valued within the team.
