If you are, the Children's Neurodiversity Service is looking for a dynamic Advanced Speech and Language Therapist to join them.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for: -

  • To effectively contribute to multidisciplinary autism assessments; working with other professionals, to provide an holistic assessment for the child/young person and their family.
  • To gather and analyse information from various sources throughout the assessment process
  • To carry out face to face and digital assessment with children/young people
  • To conduct language assessments when required to contribute to the child/young person's assessment
  • To support children/young people through the assessment process and the eventual outcome of the assessment
  • To provide personalised recommendations and intervention following the autism assessment process
  • To write detailed reports following the assessment process
  • To provide clinical supervision to SLT colleagues within the team

Essential

  • Full understanding of relevant policy, legislation, drivers and their application to clinical and service area
  • Full understanding/application of relevant clinical practice/standards/audit within identified clinical area
  • Good IT skills
  • Advanced understanding of relevant clinical practice, standards and protocols within identified clinical area.

  • Evidence of sound post-registration professional practice

  • Evidence of advanced practice skills and able to demonstrate the impact of this on practice change/development
