Job summary

Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust and CGL are working together in partnership to develop a service with an integrated model, where both mental health and substance misuse interventions are delivered at the same time in a coordinated way across three stages of care - engagement and motivation, active treatment and aftercare and relapse prevention. The service aims to work with service users with co-existing substance misuse and mental health needs. We are looking for someone who can actively contribute to supporting individuals with co-existing mental health and substance misuse problems, ensuring that we deliver a consistently excellent clinical service. You will be offered the opportunity to influence and shape the developments within the service.

Main duties of the job

To provide service users with timely access to effective and evidence based mental health support and interventions to improve their health and wellbeing

To provide dual diagnosis service in line with best practice, national and local guidance, and relevant guidelines in clinical practice

To improve health outcomes for service users with mental health and substance misuse problems providing a range of therapeutic interventions for co-existing mental health and substance misuse, working collaboratively with the service user to identify their strengths and priorities of treatment.

Qulaification and Knowledge

Essential

  • Professional knowledge acquired through degree supplemented by diploma level specialist training, experience, short courses
  • Full understanding of relevant policy, legislation and guidance relevant to clinical and service area
  • Specialist understanding of relevant clinical practice, standards and protocols within identified clinical area.
  • Be a member of a recognised professional body and hold a current professional registration
  • Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) relevant to the clinical area at a specialist level of care

  • Ability to maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with vulnerable people
  • Evidence of promoting/supporting active patient/relative involvement/participation

  • Demonstrate experience of working in the specific field where the post is held.
