Job summary

We are looking for a Ward Manager to manage our CAMHS General Adolescent inpatient unit - Orion

Inspire consists of Orion which has 9 General adolescent beds (including a High Dependency Area) and Nova a 4 Psychiatric intensive care beds, both deliver a progressive and innovative service model from a newly built state of the art building. The service has recently received two national Design in Mental Health Awards for Project of the year - New Build 2021 and Clinical Team 2021.

Each unit has a dedicated Ward Manager and nursing team with a wider MDT team that supports both units.

Inspire delivers inpatient care working in partnership with the local community as well as being part of a wider network of agencies supporting the mental health and emotional well-being needs of young people and families. The service is working towards providing a whole system trauma informed approach with the focus being on the desire to build upon individual and community strengths, wherever possible, and ensures that young people and their families are active decision makers in the process of choosing what will work for them.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be part of senior Leadership Team working closely with the Ward Manager for Nova the CAMHS PICU Unit, Modern Matron, Consultant Psychologist and Consultant Psychiatrists for both units to continue to develop the service.

You will lead a Nursing team supported by four Band 6 Nurses. You will have excellent communication / time management skills. You will be invested in working alongside young people and to advocate for them to ensure they remain the managers of their own care. You will be lead on the delivery of a high standard of care as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, caring for young people with a wide range of needs. The services model is working towards the team intervening with a young person within a social and developmental context, creating a systemic change which leads to effective and sustainable outcomes.
