Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and compassionate Paediatric Research Nurse to join the Research & Innovation team to help embed a strong research culture across the Trust.

This role will support the delivery of high-quality clinical research studies, giving children and their families access to innovative treatments and contributing to improvements in patient care.

Previous clinical research experience is desirable but not essential. This is an excellent opportunity to develop research skills within a supportive environment with development and training provided. Applications are welcomed from experienced candidates as well as newly qualified nurses.

The post is based at Northwick Park Hospital, part of London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust. Although the post holder will be expected to work flexibly across the Trust.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will support the delivery of paediatric clinical research studies within the Trust, working as part of a multidisciplinary team to identify, recruit and care for patients participating in NIHR portfolio and commercial trials. This includes supporting the informed consent process, coordinating study visits, and delivering research interventions in line with study protocols.

The post holder will be responsible for accurate data collection and documentation, including completion of case report forms, maintenance of study records, and timely reporting to sponsors and research systems. The role also involves monitoring patient progress, managing follow-up, and reporting adverse events in line with Good Clinical Practice (GCP).

Working closely with clinical teams and the Research & Innovation department, you will contribute to study set-up and delivery, support recruitment, and help promote a positive research culture.
