Job summary
The post holder will work as Deputy Superintendent Radiographer for CT and Plain Film (X-ray), providing senior clinical, professional, and operational leadership across both modalities within the Radiology Department.
The role supports the Superintendent Radiographers and Imaging Management Team in the delivery of safe, high-quality, and efficient CT and X-ray services, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, professional standards, and Trust policies.
The post holder will undertake advanced clinical work, provide day-to-day leadership for radiography staff, support workforce development, and contribute to service improvement, governance, and operational management. They will deputise for the Superintendent Radiographers as required and play a key role in maintaining service resilience, particularly during periods of high demand or senior absence.
Main duties of the job

Provide senior clinical leadership within CT and Plain Film services, acting as a role model for professional practice and patient care.

Support the day-to-day operational management of CT and X-ray, ensuring effective workflow, capacity management, and service continuity.

Undertake complex and specialist imaging examinations, maintaining high standards of image quality, safety, and patient experience.

Deputise for the Superintendent Radiographers as required, including attendance at meetings and supporting decision-making.

Provide line management and professional supervision to radiographers, assistant practitioners, and students, as delegated.

Support education, training, and competency development within CT and Plain Film.

Contribute to governance, audit, incident management, and service improvement initiatives.
