Main duties of the job
The post holder shall work as part of a multidisciplinary team and alternate between theatre, clinics and ward work on a weekly basis under the guidance of 6 Consultants and 1 Staff Grade. There is also a designated Orthogeriatric team to assist in the management of patients aged 65 and above.The position requires daily attendance at consultant ward rounds (new admissions) as well as assisting in Trauma Theatre and rotating On-Call commitments. The successful applicant will be a team player, but also able to work individually.

The holder of this post will work principally with one Consultant, but will be expectedto become an integral member of the whole trauma & orthopaedic team.The job plan will consist of regular clinics (fracture and orthopaedic) and theatre lists. (Trauma, elective and day surgery).
Elective surgery will take place at Central Middlesex hospital and Trauma will remain in the Ealing site.The holder of this post will take a keen interest in audits and, in conjunction with the SHOs, SPRs and SAS doctors are fully involved with audits and assist with the preparation of the monthly audit meetings.Analyse data and provide research and development to the department for clinical governance.
