Assistant Service Delivery Manager

Job summary

We are on the look out for a passionate and driven Assistant Service Delivery Manager to join our innovative Division of Surgery, where you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation and excellence of the Surgical Division. The post holder will work closely alongside the Senior Leadership team of the Division. One of the main responsibilities of this role will be managing the rotas across the Division, overseeing scheduling within the Division, and ensuring high-quality service delivery throughout. Participating in the PTL meetings and following up actions as required.

Main duties of the job

The Assistant Service Delivery Manager for Surgery will support day-to-day operational management of the Urology rota in its entirety and scheduling commitments for the services throughout the Division. Key responsibilities include coordinating staff workloads, managing rotas to ensure medical cover for clinics and theatres, and monitoring clinic utilisation, waiting lists, and theatre usage to meet performance targets. The role involves contributing to service improvement initiatives, facilitating collaboration between clinical and non-clinical teams, and ensuring the delivery of patient-centred services through continuous quality improvement. Prioritising scheduling and RTT pathways is a key part of this post.

The post-holder will also play a key role in managing the recruitment, training, and performance reviews for both administrative and clinical staff, ensuring compliance with quality standards. They will oversee risk management processes, including conducting audits and supporting incident investigations. Additionally, the role requires the accurate capture and reporting of data for decision-making, as well as the organisation of team meetings to foster effective communication within the department.
