Job summary

The Outpatients department at London North West Healthcare, Northwick Park, consists of a multidisciplinary team comprising of Consultants and their teams, Matron, Lead Nurse, Staff nurses, Healthcare assistants and Phlebotomists

We are looking for enthusiastic, caring, motivated, calm, responsible and professional Healthcare Assistants with phlebotomy skills, excellent communication skills to work in our busy phlebotomy department and clinical areas in our Outpatients department .The role of the phlebotomist/HCA is to provide support to the phlebotomy service as well as the multi-disciplinary team in the Outpatient clinics.

Full Time - 37.5 hours per week

Main duties of the job

The role of the Phlebotomist/Health Care Assistant is to provide support to the multidisciplinary team in Outpatients.

The post holder will perform supervised / unsupervised high quality nursing care, housekeeping and clerical duties for which they have been successfully trained and are within their sphere of competence.

The post holder will collect blood samples for pathology through venepuncture in response to requests by clinicians in accordance with the protocol and procedure specified by the department of pathology.
