Job summary
- To support the multidisciplinary healthcare team with the delivery of safe and effective care within the Integrated Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare
- Undertake clinical skills including: asymptomatic STI screening, venepuncture, pregnancy testing, urinalysis, basic observations, calculating BMI and chaperoning during male and female examinations.
- To support the smooth running of clinics by maintaining and monitoring adequate stocks levels and participate in the preparation and clear of clinical rooms/areas while maintain infection prevention and control
Main duties of the job
- To act as a chaperone and provide assistance for clinical procedures including male and female examinations, maintaining the patient's privacy and dignity at all
- To undertake venepuncture in support of clinicians managing
- To ensure all samples / specimens are recorded and prepared for transportation in a timely manner as per local policy/procedures, reporting any discrepancies to an appropriate team
- To undertake baseline observations including, blood pressure, weight and height measurement and calculate body mass index (BMI).
- To monitor and maintain clinical stock levels, identifying and reporting any discrepancies to their relevant line manager.
- To participate in the preparation and clearing of clinical areas while maintaining infection prevention and cross
- To be aware of and maintain confidentiality at all times in accordance with LNWH trust policy
- To be flexible and working within any of the LNWH integrated sexual and reproductive healthcare service. To remain until the last client has been seen and the clinic is clean.
- To adhere to all LNWH trust policies and procedures and seek support from the multidisciplinary team where and when To work within individual professional boundaries.
- To participate in specific training to undertake the role and support the delivery of sexual and reproductive
- To participate in all aspects of clinical and information governance, quality assurance, appraisal and audit. To attend departmental meetings.
