Job summary

We are looking to recruit a Band 3 Assistant Audiology Practitioner based at Northwick Park Hospital. You will be working Cross site across the three main hospital sites, Central Middlesex, Ealing and Northwick park hospital.

You will be an enthusiastic individual with demonstrable experience of working in healthcare environments, with a warm personality and great people skills.

The post holders will be well-motivated and innovative, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to manage both time and workload. They will be responsible for providing Adult audiology hearing aid repairs and stock control

You should have GCSE English and Maths grade C or above; with demonstrable experience of working in healthcare environments.

Main duties of the job

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. The role requires IT skills, ability to work autonomously and to interact in empathetically manner with patients with hearing loss.
  2. You will be seeing patients for routine hearing aid repair and maintenance , making any necessary adjustments patient hearing aids and impression taking.
  3. Ordering and maintaining Audiology stock across all sites.
  4. Auditing stock levels.
  5. You will carry out various administrative duties, which includes scanning of patient referrals and reports, daily checks of both Adult and Paediatric email inboxes, responding to emails or forwarding to relevant service.
  6. A clear speaking voice is essential when working with Deaf and hard of hearing people.
  7. Assists with clinical supervision and training of junior staff and students.
  8. Updates own professional knowledge, keeping abreast of new digital hearing aid technology, assessment techniques and best clinical practice.
  9. Ensure that clinical equipment used is calibrated, decontaminated and maintained according to national and departmental protocols
