Join the London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust (LNWUH) on a fixed-term secondment as a Service Delivery Manager at Band 7 level, dedicated to the Department of Medicine for Older People. This pivotal one-year role involves overseeing the seamless delivery of healthcare services, leading cross-functional teams within the Department of Medicine for Older People, and strategically planning initiatives to meet the trust's healthcare goals.

Main duties of the job

As the Service Delivery Manager at LNWUH within the Department of Stroke, Neurology and Orthotics, you will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating and leading cross-functional teams within Stroke, Neurology and Orthotics Department of Medicine for Older People to achieve operational excellence in healthcare service delivery.
  • Strategically planning and implementing healthcare service delivery initiatives aligned with the trust's healthcare goals and the unique needs of the Department of Medicine for Older People.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for healthcare stakeholders within the Department of Medicine for Older People, fostering strong relationships.
  • Mitigating risks, resolving healthcare service-related issues specific to the Department of Medicine for Older People, and maintaining a consistent level of excellence in healthcare delivery for older patients.

Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring adherence to targets.

Support service strategy development and risk management.

Excel Proficiency and Data Analysis:

Possess Intermediate Excel skills, including advanced formulas.

Utilise data modelling and analysis for NHS performance targets.

Collaboration and Personnel Management:

Work closely with leads to understand service priorities.

Oversee doctors' staffing rota, recruitment, and annual leave.

Service Meetings Leadership:

Build relationships with members of the MDT to understand different perspectives on services challenges and priorities.

Prepare and lead service meetings involving the full MDT and ensure actions from meetings are undertaken in a timely manner.

Take an active role in contributing to a positive team culture

Policy and Service Development Implementation:

Implement service developments and achieve performance targets.

Assist in business plans, new policies/NSFs, and service improvements.

Monitor key performance indicators and conduct own analysis to proactively identify changes.

Performance Management:

Lead the delivery of outpatient and inpatient access targets.

Monitor daily access targets, report breaches, and contribute to capacity planning.

Financial and Physical Resources:

Assist in managing activity levels and identify efficiency gains.

Lead on savings plan schemes, manage budgets, and be an authorized signatory.

Authorise timesheets, expenses, and financial requisitions.

Information Resource:

Provide timely, high-quality performance information to meetings.

Human Resources:
