Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced, knowledgeable and proactive nurse to lead the emergency department at Northwick Park Hospital in the role of Matron. Ideally we are looking for a dual registered RSCN/RN who is keen to develop their clinical and management skills and who has the vision and passion to deliver exceptional care to our adults, young persons and children.
Northwick Park Hospital emergency department is one of the busiest in London treating over 130,000 patients per year. The department deals with over 100 emergency ambulances per day and is a specialist centre for acute stroke care.
You will work alongside a fellow matron in ensuring the Trusts vison that patients receive care that is of high quality, safe and effective resulting in a good experience for patients. You will have day to day professional and managerial responsibility for the department, supporting and providing assurance to the divisional management team on the delivery of patient care and patient outcomes.As Matron you will provide expert professional leadership, informed, objective and pragmatic nursing advice to the nursing team and the Divisional senior team, ensuring there are robust systems and monitoring in place to support all matters relating to patient care and experience.
Main duties of the job
1. Key clinical leader ensuring the highest standards of nursing practice and clinical care is delivered to patients.
2. Provide professional leadership and management to all accountable staff.
3. Accountable for service delivery, including clinical standards, management of clinical risks and complaints, play a key role in quality improvement.
4. Financial responsibility of nursing budgets.
5. Service development in line with national recommendations and standards.
6. Responsible for driving the ethos behind the Matrons NHS Charter.
