Job summary
The post holder will manage the delivery of a high quality, safe and compassionate healthcare service to patients. They will have responsibility for ensuring that all administrative processes are efficient and effective and enable the team and the Trust to meet high standards of performance. The post holder will have specific responsibility for driving forward excellent standards of customer service taking action where levels of service delivery fall short of what is required or do not uphold Trust values. The post holder will line manage a team of administrators and will be responsible for organising workload and cover, recruiting and inducting new staff members, identifying training and support required by individuals and managing performance.
You must possess excellent communication skills, working with deadlines and accurate keyboard skills are essential qualities that we are looking for.

Main duties of the job
To provide day-to-day operational management for the Dermatology administration team including recruitment, appraisals and continuous professional development for all admin staff.Remain calm and focused whilst working in a high-pressure environment with demanding and challenging priorities.Provide cross cover when required ensuring a flexible and proactive approach and cover colleagues during periods sickness and leave.
Develop and maintain rotas so that all areas are consistently staffed, and so that staff members are exposed to all areas so as to provide the skills for cross cover where needed.
Ensure accurate and timely data entry and various local and national audits as required.
Ensure that patients' appointments are booked in accordance with booking rules (Adhering to 18 week and cancer waiting times), ensure continuous monitoring of waiting and request lists, working with Assistant Service Manager when corrective action are required.
Responsible for supporting delivery of the cancer waiting times standards for dermatology, focusing on achieving and maintaining the cancer targets (28 days FDS 31 Days and 63 days).
