An opportunity arises for an dynamic, innovative and highly motivated orthopaedic trauma scrub practitioner with substantial experience inrecent Trauma Scrub as Band 6 Team Leader in an acute hospital setting to Lead the CEPOD and Trauma Team in Ealing Theatre.
The successful candidate will lead and support a team of theatre scrub professionals to deliver high standard of care to the patients admitted through the emergency/ trauma pathway. The key part of the role is to provide clinical supervision to develop the team to ensure staff has appropriate skills and attributes to support trauma service in a safe environment in Ealing Hospital.
Main duties of the job
The post holder is responsible for the operational management of Trauma/ CEPOD specialties in the theatre department; including budgetary awareness, clinical governance, implant and instrument management, Trauma/ CEPOD service development , audits, staff development and training .
You must be able to demonstrate exceptional organisational skill to deliver safe and efficient trauma and CEPOD service. You will work collaboratively as part of the MDT team as well as independently to deliver excellent peri-operative patient experience.
In return, you will have support from the management team to develop day to day theatre management, rota management, procurement and people management skills to deliver quality and safety agenda.
In conjunction with the other Lead Practitioners, the post holder is responsible for the day to day operational management of the Operating Department in the absence of the Clinical Theatre Manager.The post holder will be expected to be a professional role model and provide direction and inspirational leadership to all members of the multidisciplinary team within the area for which they are accountable for.
The post holder will be involved in the development of protocols / guidelines and implementing effective processes to ensure patient safety.
Occasionally you may be required to work cross site or weekends.
