Job summary

An opportunity has arisen within the UTC for the position of Lead General Practitioner at Ealing Hospital. It is an exciting time to join the division to be part of some of our new service initiatives that we have planned. We offer a busy and fast paced environment where you will have opportunity to develop in a leadership role.

The post holder will be responsible for the delivery and provision of a high quality urgent and emergent care service across Emergency and Ambulatory Care Division. At all times the post holder will act in a manner consistent with the GMC code of conduct and appearance representing LNWH and the NHS.

Full time/ part time, flexible working will be considered, also opportunity to negotiate hours

Main duties of the job

Leadership of the Urgent Treatment Centre at Ealing Hospital, encompassing the management of resources and the achievement of agreed performance objectives within the context of National and Trust

To work autonomously in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and discharge of patients attending for emergency and urgent care needs including illness and injuries within one's own level of competence and within agreed protocols.

To work alongside the UTC Clinical Directors to support a collaborative front door model between both services to ensure all patients attending UTC are seen by the right clinician in the right place at the right time.

Act as a role model for our team of GPs and take an active role in leadership and supporting junior staff.

To provide health education to patients and their carers.

Make referrals to other specialities and teams where clinically appropriate.

Take part in clinical audits , clinical research and service improvement projects.

Attend multidisciplinary meetings when required.
