Job summary
Applications are invited to apply for a 8 months fixed term locum Consultant post in Palliative Medicine . The successful applicant will join the specialist palliative care team at Meadow House Hospice. The hospice is based at the Ealing site of London North West University Healthcare Trust.
The post holder would join consultant level staff including a 10 PA Lead Clinician, 2 other part-time consultants providing 15 PAs jointly, and a 10 PA Associate Specialist who collectively support specialist palliative care provision at Meadow House Hospice, across the London Boroughs of Ealing and Hounslow and Ealing Hospital.
Applications will be accepted from doctors who hold a certificate of completion of specialist training or equivalent in palliative medicine, as well as those within 6 months of their final training date on the day of interview. Interviews will be conducted early 2023.
Main duties of the job
This is a 10 PA role based on the inpatient hospice ward in the first instance. The post holder would support the ward medical (full-time Specialist Trainee, 1.5 GPVTS doctors and a 0.3 ITP trainee) and nursing team. The post holder will join the on-call rota (one in five) which includes telephone advice to community healthcare workers plus acute colleagues within the Trust, first on call for the inpatient hospice ward and second on call 9-5 for the community SPC Clinical Nurse Specialists over weekends and Bank Holidays. This is remunerated at 5% and attracts a day in lieu for every weekend worked.
