Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the Staff Nurses to work on Ward 6 South at Ealing Hospital. This is a fast paced 34-bedded acute general medical ward specializing in the care of patients with respiratory disorders. It has a 6 bedded enhanced unit caring for patients requiring level 2 monitoring, non invasive ventilation and arterial lines. We also care for patients with tracheostomies. Training will be given to suitable applicants by our resident respiratory clinical nurse specialists.

We care for patients with Covid and those with Covid requiring CPAP as required.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking nurses with a passion for delivering high quality nursing care and an interest in respiratory enhanced care, non invasive ventilation and tracheostomy care. The ability to work within a large busy nursing team and develop close relationships with the multidisciplinary team are essential.

Main duties include assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of nursing care for a named group of patients. High standards of communication and documentation are essential.

Care of patients with acute and chronic respiratory disorders, non invasive ventilation, chest drains, tracheostomy and oxygen delivery.

Care of patients with frailty, acute medical conditions and confusion.
