Job summary

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated registered nurse to join our friendly team.

Evelyn is a 33 bedded Trauma orthopaedic Ward that provides care to a range of patients

You will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of a high standard of care, liaising with the multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity in the delivery of care

Main duties of the job

Responsible for the care of the patients on the ward. To deputise for the clinical sister in managing a team of nurses and support staff to achieve this.

Job responsibilities

To be responsible for the assessment of care needs, development, delivery and implementation of programmes of care for an assigned patient group.To monitor appropriate practices in line with the policies of this Trust, to participate in research based nursing care to meet identified needs of the patient, equipment and leadership of a team.

Together with senior staff, review standards of patient care specific to trauma/orthopaedics and general surgery, and to work to the agreed standards, monitoring outcomes.

To follow the Trusts agreed good practice when discharging clinical responsibilities.

To be aware of the policies and philosophies of the Trust, including Health and safety and ensure all actions are carried out within these guidelines.To maintain a safe environment for staff, patients and relatives.To ensure nursing care is provided for patients with consideration for cultural needs. Promote awareness of cultural differences amongst staff to ensure a sensitive and caring approach topatients and visitors from all members of the ward team.To participate in the implementation of relevant nursing research/changes in clinical practice in conjunction with the Practice Development Unit.Ensure effective participation in clinical governance initiatives and actively contribute to compliance of benchmarked standards for quality clinical care.Ensure documentation is relevant, appropriate, accurate and concise and are signed legibly and dated.
