Job summary

An opportunity has arisen for a pharmacist to join our Research and Development and Pharmacy department as the lead pharmacists for the Pharmacy Clinical Trial team. This is an exciting time within the Trust with many active promotions to increase and improve research activities. LNWH research and development department was the second largest recruiter in North West London in 2020/21 and has secured more than 8,000 participants into research studies. This includes playing a leading role in delivering Covid-19 vaccine trials and urgent public health studies during the pandemic. The Trust hasresearch activities across all three hospital sites. There also has a Clinical Research Facility (CRF) at Northwick Park site.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work closely with the Trust Research and Development (R&D) departments, Pharmacy and senior clinicians in managing and developing the clinical trial services across three sites. The post holder will lead the Pharmacy team to develop governance policies and operation procedures to support feasibility, set up, running of clinical trials as well as maintaining compliance with local quality management systems and documentation.

In addition, the post holder will also be actively working with pharmacy department to develop Pharmacy clinical services and practice research development within Pharmacy. and the R&D department to understand future plans for clinical trials and the impact on capacity of the various elements of the clinical trials service.

Essential

  • Degree in pharmacy
  • GPhC Registered as a pharmacist
