An exciting opportunity has become available for a band 7 Clinical Nurse Manager on Kingsley Ward at Northwick Park Hospital.
Kingsley ward is an elective surgical ward located in level 10, main building of Northwick park Hospital. The ward has 16 beds in total. We take elective admissions from all specialities including, ENT, Max-fax, Gynae, colorectal, urology, Brest and General surgery.
We are seeking a leader who can build a high quality, motivated and caring team who are experts in their field with elective Surgery and acute surgical experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for championing and guiding a diverse range of nursing and health care assistants whilst working along side other multidisciplinary colleagues. Ensuring the 24 hour nursing service is covered by appropriate rostering and skill mix, facilitate multidisciplinary team working and monitor/participate in the provision of patient care. Experience of managing complex work loads and competing priorities is essential for this post
Main duties of the job
As Clinical Nurse Manager, you have key responsibility for ensuring the provision of high quality, safe and compassionate care for patients on the unit. The ability to manage change and ensure the nursing team has enhanced care nursing skills are essential.
The successful candidate will demonstrate effective communication skills, a strong collaborative approach and ability to engage with senior nursing staff and the multidisciplinary team, within an ever changing, challenging environment.
Key objectives include implementation of the national and local nursing strategies, achievement of key performance indicators in relation to Care Quality Commission and patient experience, and effective budget and staff rostering management.
You require strong leadership skills as well as being an enthusiastic, motivated, and experienced nurse who can make a positive difference to the team and patient care. The ability to build strong working relationships with your team and colleagues is essential . You will be directly supported by a Matron and Head of Nursing. Training will be provided where needed.
