Job summary
We are looking for an experienced Dietitian who wants part time within palliative care to cover for maternity leave.
Main duties of the job
The post plays a key role in the provision of therapeutic dietary advise to patients and carers receiving palliative treatment in Meadow House Hospice .
You have to work autonomously, have a specialist dietetic knowledge base, relevant postgraduate experience and are motivated by working in a collaborative and innovative way within an MDT team environment
About us
You will be part of a large Nutrition and Dietetic department encompassing teams based in Northwick Park, Ealing and Central Middlesex Hospitals.
We have a robust departmental audit and development program, clinical supervision, monthly journal club and in-service training. We take Dietetic placements 2 & 3 students, and the post holder will be included in their programmes.
You need to demonstrate active participation in audit, , service and patient improvement initiatives. Personal qualities we value as a team are empathy, initiative, flexibility, and team working.

- This post plays a key role in the provision of sensitive, easily accessible therapeutic dietary treatment and advice to patients receiving palliative treatment in the Hospice and their carer and on discharge .This includes home enteral tube feeding
- The post will take a pivotal lead role for the palliative nutrition support service provided to this patient group in the hospice , (e.g. develop standards, training for dietitians, palliative care teams, and other health professionals involved in the care of this group of patients). The post holder will work closely with the Palliative Care Dietitian in Ealing community partners , Ealing Hospital teams and other Community dietitians
- The post holder will also be responsible for liaising with hospital discharge teams, hospice staff, palliative care team, and participate in the care planning process
- The post holder will provide leadership around palliative nutrition to the dietetic team
