Specialty Doctor in Contraception/Sexual & Reproductive Health (Hillingdon) (10 PA - Permanent Contract)
Applications are invited for a substantive post in Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare at Hillingdon Community Clinics (1 post), part of the London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to work in an ethnically diverse areas of the UK with a team renowned for innovation in health care.
The successful candidate will be expected to support the Consultants in the delivery of the highest standards of patient care and service developments.
Requirements for the Post
The appointee will be expected to work with the Consultants (Dr Samantha Hitchings and Dr Luciana Rubinstein), medical, nursing and administrative colleagues to provide Contraceptive and STI management care within an Integrated Sexual and Reproductive Health Service
Also he/she will need to:
- Provide safe and effective care in line with departmental and national guidelines
- Help to facilitate the departmental audit programme.
- Teach GP trainees, undergraduate medical students, and nurses in clinic
Main duties of the job
Clinical duties will include:
- Provision of contraceptive and sexual health clinics, including a dedicated Young People's clinic
- Work towards providing a fully integrated sexual health service with an emphasis on contraceptive provision and STI management
Extensive opportunities for further training and development in SRH and HIV are available and the appointee will be encouraged to become a Faculty Registered Trainer and an STI Foundation Competency Trainer.

The Services provide training for DFSRH and STI Foundation competency training for GPs, Nurses and GP trainees through innovative training posts.
HIV clinics run in each borough with in-patients being looked after by the Infectious Diseases team, with whom there is close working.
