Job summary

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a qualified/ newly qualified Nursing Associate to join our theatre team in CMH hospital. You will be supported by experts in the field in a busy but friendly environment using advance technology to serve our patients in different specialties. Theatre scrub experience will be an advantage, but training will be provided for suitable candidates to fulfill the role.

The department offers training and development across a range of specialties, newly appointed staff have a supernumerary induction period, supported by a Practice Development Nurse using our in-house competency documents. Staff are offered external courses to further develop their theatre competencies.

Upon successful completion of the theatre competency programme, you will circulate and scrub for a full range of procedures under supervision. As your confidence and knowledge grows you will take an active role in mentoring band 2 theatre support workers and student nurses/ODP's.

Main duties of the job

As a NMC registered practitioner, the Nursing Associate will work under minimal supervision provided by a Registered Nurse (Level 1) or Operating Department Practitioner.

Upon successful completion of the theatre competency programme, they will circulate and scrub for a full range of procedures

The Nursing Associate will be expected to plan and prioritise their workload; implement care; utilise relevant guidance, protocols, and policies (local and national).

The post holder will coordinate and deliver direct care for a designated group of patients delivering safe, compassionate, and dignified patient centered health care.

They will adhere to the documentation standards required by the trust and their regulatory body. The nurse associate will advocate for all individuals in their care, upholding the NMC standards in all interactions The post holder will adhere to Trust Policies, Procedures and Guidelines.
