Job summary
An opportunity has arisen to join St Mark's Hospital, The National Bowel Hospital, for 12 months as the Lead Pharmacist for Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). This is a maternity leave cover.
We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced and friendly Pharmacist to join the team. This opportunity is suitable for a pharmacist who is looking to develop their clinical leadership skills, grow and/ or develop their IBD clinical knowledge while working in a world leading department. Full training and support will be given by the IBD MDT and the St Mark's Pharmacy team.
The post holder will be able to collect evidence to contribute towards Consultant Pharmacist Credentialing.
Main duties of the job
Key responsibilities of the role will include
- To lead the development and delivery of clinical pharmacy services to the IBD service for both inpatients and outpatients
- Liaise with multidisciplinary colleagues within the Trust and across sectors in the locality
- To ensure the provision of a safe, efficient and cost-effective pharmacy service to IBD and St Mark's hospital
- To manage the clinical service provided by a team of pharmacists working in St Mark's Hospital and IBD
- To identify training needs of pharmacy staff and develop strategies to meet them in order for staff to undertake the roles required within IBD service and St Mark's Hospital
- You will be motivatingand inspiring staff working with you
- You will be promoting the professional role of Pharmacists within the Trust
