North West London Elective Orthopaedic Centre (EOC) and Central Middlesex Hospital (CMH) Medical Director
To have clinical oversight of the NWL Elective Orthopaedic Centre (EOC) and the CMH Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) from an LNWH and site perspective.
As a member of the NWL EOC partnership board they will work in partnership with NWL clinical partners to deliver the safe and efficient functioning of the EOC service and its accompanying clinical strategy. As a member of the LNWH Trust Executive Group, the EOC and CMH Medical Director will play a leadership role, overviewing cross divisional site issues, aligning medical and other staff on all sites, influencing the management and development of the site and Trust
Candidates will be medically qualified, with a successful consultant career to date. Their experience should include a track record of leadership, at Clinical Director or equivalent level, involving substantial change programmes, organisational capability and setting strategic vision and direction. They will possess an understanding of the complexity of secondary and tertiary healthcare.
Candidates should recognise the two distinct, but co-located, aspects to this role (the NWL EOC partnership and the LNWH CMH site medical director). They should relish achallengeand demonstrate tenacity in the face of uncertainty. They should be determined to improve their personal skills and knowledge through on-going continuous professional development.
Main duties of the job
Corporate and Clinical Leadership (Quality of Care)
(Note: St.Mark's Hospital has its own distinct and separate governance arrangements which sit outwith this role)
To have oversight of the NWL EOC and the CMH UTC from an LNWH and site perspective.
To be a member of the NWL EOC partnership board and to work in partnership with NWL clinical partners to deliver the safe and efficient functioning of the EOC service and its accompanying clinical strategy.
To be accountable for the delivery of safe, high quality patient care as an overriding priority.
To represent medical leadership for the Office of MD at the hospital site in particular supporting cross divisional leadership issues.
To be the 'on site' and 'day to day' medical lead for the respective Hospital site
Use of Resources
To provide support to NWL EOC partners, and the LNWH divisions, in the delivery of the key quality and performance standards and where necessary, to identify and help develop EOC, or site specific, clinical outcome measures.
To be operationally accountable to the Chief Operating Officer and professionally accountable to the Chief Medical Officer in respect of delivery of all relevant site-specific activity and performance objectives from a medical perspective.
To delivery as part of the site triumvirate the quarterly site-specific reports to the Board and the sub-committees as required.
