Information:

This job is now closed

Job summary

Our maternity services provide high quality care for approx. 4700 women and families each year. The successful candidate will play an integral role in implementing initiatives to sustain continued improvement in the quality and safety of care through case reviews, data analysis and patient's feedback.

We are looking for a midwife who is motivated and dynamic, who has an ability to influence others, manage changes and who wishes to support improvement within maternity services.

This programme was commissioned by the Healthcare Quality Improvement Partnership on behalf of the Department of Health and the Welsh and Scottish Governments. This tool is designed to help clinicians to review the circumstances and care leading up to and surrounding stillbirths and neonatal deaths in a systematic way; identify any sub-optimal care factors; develop action plans as a consequence and provide parents with information about why their baby died.

The successful applicant will need to have excellent IT skills, along with great communication, and presentation skills. Knowledge of the PMRT tool and process would also be an advantage.

Main duties of the job

  • Data entry of all perinatal deaths eligible for PMRT
  • Ensure review by Multidisciplinary team of all eligible cases
  • Be the main point of contact for the bereaved parents and ensure their feedback is taking into consideration as part of case reviews
  • Be the liaison with other units to promote external review of cases
  • To share learning from PMRT findings at Divisional meetings
  • To monitor actions from MDT findings via a tracking system
  • To audit and analyse data from the PMRT tool
  • To ensure compliance with CNST action 1
  • Presentation of cases and learning at unit meetings
