Job summary
The job involves working across sites namely at Northwick Park Hospital, Ealing hospital and Central Middlesex Hospitals.
The Endometriosis clinic take place almost every week on the Northwick Park site and the post holder should be available for ad-hoc clinical gynaecology sessions.
Northwick Park hospital theatre lists are offered for complex endometriosis cases and Ealing theatre lists are offered for the general gynaecology elective cases. There is a plan in process for Ad-Hoc Robotic Endometriosis cases at Central Middlesex hospital once a month for high BMI and repeat endometriosis surgery.
The post holder will be part of the gynaecological rota for the on-call commitment and during the day time working hours will be part of the endometriosis team. Opportunity will be given for advanced hysteroscopic procedures as well.
There will be the opportunity to train in advanced laparoscopic surgery at Northwick Park Hospital Centre for Severe Endometriosis. There will be joint cases with the urologists and the colorectal surgeons of St Mark's Hospital. Research in Minimal Access Surgery MAS/Endometriosis will be encouraged and supported. Experience advanced laparoscopic surgery is essential . The appointee will work with Mr Stewart Disu (BSGE Accredited Laparoscopic Endometriosis Surgeon) and Lead Minimal Access Surgery.

There are separate rotas for obstetrics and gynaecology. The post holder will be part of the Gynaecology rota but this includes support for junior obstetric trainees during the night shift. The frequency of on-calls is 1:8.
