Job summary

The post is Trust Foundation Level programme, withattachments in Surgery, Medical, Accident and Emergency and ITU. Placements are for 4 months each in the Foundation Year 1 and 2 years. All doctors are expected to follow the same curriculum as the Deanery Foundation Programme and complete the requirements on the Horus e-portfolio.

There are regular meetings with the Educational, Clinical and Programme Directors. Final sign of is dependent on fulfilling all the criteria. The posts will be across the 3 sites (Northwick Park, Central Middlesex and Ealing Hospitals), but regular day to day travel will not be expected.

Main duties of the job

The duties of the post are to cover wards at the level of Y1; depending on the placement opportunities will be available to attend A/E, theatres, OPD and diagnostic sessions. At all times, there will be supervision from senior clinicians. Doctors will be encouraged to take part in the formal foundation teaching sessions and attend local departmental protected teaching events. They will be expected to take part in audits and quality improvement projects
