Job summary
LNWH is looking for a talented finance professional to lead the financial support to the Transformation Programme. This is an exciting new role within the Trust, positioned at the forefront of the Trust's Improvement and Transformation agenda, ensuring the Trust is perfectly positioned to provide the best patient care and healthcare outcomes for the future.
Main duties of the job
This role will involve :
- leading the delivery of the financial agenda across Trust-wide cross cutting transformation projects/programmes and contributing to the achievement of the corporate financial objective of the Trust
- Providing expert financial advice for large strategic projects and service developments
- Identifying and contributing to the delivery of short and medium term financial savings plans
- Generating plans to drive the provision of high quality services and improved profitability and productivity and support the drive to embed benchmarking, service line reporting and patient level costing across clinical and corporate areas.
The post holder will be a key member of the senior management team within the Transformation Programme and will proactively guide directors and clinicians in accessing and understanding financial information for their areas of programme budget responsibility, building their own knowledge and capacity in order to deliver sustainable financial best practice across the organisation. The post holder is expected to operate at a senior level in the organisation, interpreting complex information and work effectively with clinical and non-clinical colleagues.

The post holder will work closely with Programme Board Members, Heads of Finance, Associate Directors of Finance, Heads of Departments and the Transformation Programme Team in supporting several workstreams in the Trusts Transformation programme by:
- Leading the finance support function to the Transformation Programme and being an active participant in Programme Boards
- Being the responsible manager for Financial Transformation Infrastructure, working closely with the PMO arm of the Transformation team, to ensure robust governance infrastructure
- Ensuring robust development of financial improvement plans, monitoring and reporting of the financials related to all cost/waste reduction projects
- Producing monthly reports to the Transformation Group with updates on the financial impact of transformation projects
- Providing expert advice to senior budget holders/managers over financial issues, persuading them to a certain course of action; develop and deliver complex financial presentations and convey financial concepts, e.g. Transformation programme budgets, business cases to groups of senior non-finance managers.
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with a track record in financial transformation. This is a truly collaborative role in a forward-looking Team you will be transformation and change focused in your outlook and you will be able to evidence examples of bringing others with you in achieving this agenda. Like an internal consultant, this role will offer you exposure across the whole trust, you will be able to demonstrate hands on financial detail and robustness but with a bigger picture view. You will be able to think creatively in how Trust-wide programmes and divisions can drive and release efficiencies and you will have a track record of successfully achieving positive transformation in the programmes/divisional projects you support as well as the ability to challenge others, engage with a range of stakeholders and hold colleagues to account.
Autonomous, flexible and technically strong, we are also looking for individuals who are committed to development, change and improvement and who work well in dynamic and diverse teams.
