Trust Junior Doctor in Cardiology

Fixed Term 12 months

Applications are welcome for a Cardiology Trust Junior Doctor based primarily at Northwick Park Hospital. The post holder may also be required to cover at Ealing Hospital in line with service need.At Northwick Park Hospital we have a busy 42 bedded cardiology ward including a 8 bedded Coronary Care Unit. The post holders will be expected to be able to provide cover to the unit and support the registrars and consultants in Cardiology. It is an excellent opportunity to gain/develop experience in Cardiology.

At Ealing Hospital we have a busy 32 bedded ward including 11 coronary care beds.Our aim is to provide a continuum of care spanning the acute District General Hospitals, and the necessary medical, social and therapies provision to promote maximal independence of people living with health conditions and diseases in the community.

Main duties of the job

The appointee will generally be responsible for the assessment and treatment of patients admitted to the Cardiology department under direct supervision of a registrar and consultant. We run a Consultant of the Week model on both sites.It will also give you the opportunity to get involved in audits and presenting at clinical governance meetings to expose you to the wider teams and other specialties.All candidates should be eligible for registration with the GMC.MBBS (or equivalent) and Full registration with GMC are essential.Where equivalent qualifications or experience are being offered, it is essential that the candidate provides written confirmation and attaches this to their application.
